Thanks to all for the responses.
I'm going to revise the file number to include a '1' just before the four
digits as in from _IGPXXXX to IGP1XXXX.
Its in keeping with my current filing sytstem as I file images by date of
capture in a month file which is filed in a year file.

Subject: RE: File numbering info
From: <kwaller
I'm about to exceed the 9999 image file number and do not want to
duplicate
the numbers on existing image files. I'm assuming it will rollover to
0001.
What have others done when faced with this concern. I have a K20D but I
don't believe this is unique to this body.
Suggestions sought.

I'm pretty sure you can change the Prefix the camera uses. As soon as
you take "IMGP9999", go into the menu and change the prefix to "2MGP"
before the next shot.
I'm not sure if the next shot will become "2MGP0000" or "2MGP0001".
Third time around the wheel change it to "3MGP" ...
