thanx for the warm welcome to the brotherhood! i also appreciate all the
pointers.

I just realized that I was asking to much from the focusing screen. I have
f/1.4 lens on LX and f/2.4 on 6x7 -- that's more than enough to explain the
brightness difference.

yes. and it feels in exactly right place. did i mention how i was impressed
with the camera's ergonomics? well, i'm still am. all i can say, once i pick
it up, it is "sooooo right"!

last i checkecked pentax site, 6x7 MLU is supported. that was one of the
reasons behind my buying it, as opposed to, say Bronica ECTL. speaking of
bronicas: i have never handled one, but these seem to have a pretty similar
feature sets, and have some similarly fast glass for them. is there anything
to justify the price difference (P6x7 seems quite a bit more expensive)?

now, someone mentioned to me the grip for this camera. does it improve
handling a lot? how about waist level finder -- how useful is it with this
camera? i have to say, i really like magnifinder (FE-1) on LX -- are there
analogs for 6x7?

all in all, now i am dying to see it in action. hope the weather clears by
saturday (here you can never really trust the forecasts)...

best,

mike
