I have three pairs of "dress" socks -- black, brown and blue.
Then, I have an unknown number of white socks with grey soles.
Then, I have a few pairs of white socks with grass stains around the
ankles. They're my "reserve" socks that remind me that I'm almost out of
clean socks.
I have a pair of Bates patent leather low-quarters & a pair of Rockport
Rock-Sports dress shoes. Each has a pair of black nylon dress socks
rolled up & tucked away down in the toe so I can find them if I ever need to
wear dress shoes again.
With everything else I wear SmartWool Light Hikers, even with sneakers.
I used to have a number of other types of socks, but I simplified my
life by donating them all to Goodwill/Salvation Army.
