I tried a few weeks ago,puting a Kleenex over
the 285HV.Even at f2.8 it was very underexposed and
no details at 20'.I think in my dark arena the Omni might
be to much cut,however in the arean that is better
lit,windows on north/south and on roof,it might act as
more a fill flash.That might help to keep the brighter 
colours on the fences from washing out some what.
I shoot in the dark arena 1/500 at f 3.5/4 and the light arean
at 1/500 at f 3.2/3.5 depending if the sun is out.
Dark about 20',light about 30-40' from the riders.
I can practise shoot in the dark arena any time,so this
might be the time to experiment.

If the area is big enough for horses, I would guess all it would do

your flash too wimpy to use there.
