Pentax has replaced the K-5 with the K-5II which is pretty much the same camera with some very nice improvements. The D90 probably isn't being manufactured anymore, but Nikon probably has ample stocks. You don't announce that a model is discontinued until there aren't a large number left unsold, otherwise you're shafting your distributors. I'm just surprised that the K-5 has been holding it's price. If the street price difference between a K-5 and a K-5II is less than $100.00 and it often is then it seems that there would be no incentive to buy the former.
