I've not used Contax filters, Paul, but I have compared results with a Contax T*85/1.4 and the Pentax A*85/1.4, and the results were very similar. I'd say that the Contax filter would be a good choice based on price and the glass. However, I'm unsure as to how the filters would compare with the Pentax SMC filters.
