I think it is great that older models have held their value so well. Too often "the market" treats previous models as obsolete doorstops that need to be discarded as soon as possible. Pentax and the move from K-7 to K-5 to K-5ii reminds me somewhat of the Apple strategy with the iPhone in recent generations: "here is our newest best and greatest, but the previous model was pretty good and you can buy that still, at a slight discount . . ."
