Greetings all,

I want to put together a little "raincoat" for my ZX-M following some of the
useful suggestions posted by list members over the last year. This would
be a temporary /emergency rig using zip-lock bags and rubber bands.

Use of a lens hood might really simplify things, but I don't have one for the
Tamron lenses I generally use. I could use the plastic hood that came with
the Pentax 50mm screwmount I have; that would require using a step-down ring
(52mm -> 49mm).

So (with the filter size in parenthesis), the setup would be:
 28-70 or 70-210 Lens (52mm),  Uv filter (52mm), step-down ring (52mm ->
49mm), lens hood  from screwmount  50mm (49mm).

Question is: would this setup produce any vignetting?

Is there a method or simple formula for anticipating vignette problems or
discerning their degree of unacceptability? (I assume it might have
something to do with the relationship of filter size and the angle of view.)

Thanks in advance for any solution!

Mike Ray
