Thank you, Bob.

The great thing is that the girl is all of 13 years old, so she's still got some growing to do. (I thought she was a few years older 'til yesterday, when her mom mentioned it in passing.) I figure she's just going to keep getting prettier for quite some time and will lose a bit of that cherubic look as her bone structure takes shape.

She loves having her picture taken, and was just thrilled with the experience she had yesterday. I suspect I'll get some great photos of that young lady in the years to come. I'm really looking forward to it.

Walt,
That's a very nice set to start with.
The model has an absolute 'moon' face.
This could be good or bad for her photos,
but it raises some real possibilities for you.
Her smile has the Taylor Swiftish look like Frank mentioned,
but some of the more sober expressions are really beautiful.
She doesn't need to smile to produce a unique and attractive image.

I woke up today with an itch to take some photos and decided, what the hell
-- I'll see if I can find someone to pose for me. So, I updated my Facebook
status to see if anyone might be interested. Shortly thereafter, I got a
response from a friend of mine who's been telling me for quite a while that
she wants me to photograph her daughter. She was ready to get it underway
within two hours, but I told her I had to make some arrangements with a
friend of mine to see if I could use his place to take some shots and that
we ought to shoot for the early afternoon, just to give him a little bit of
notice. I called, he agreed, and we all went out there and started shooting.
This is the product after my initial run-through of the more easily workable
shots:

All shot with the K-5 and F50/1.7 with my recently purchased flash unit
attached. I didn't bother with any wireless stuff as I wanted to play it
safe and didn't want any big surprises. Also, I didn't realize until I got
home that I'd had the diffuser in my pocket the whole time. So, some of the
shots came out a tad harsh, but overall, I have to say I'm pretty pleased
with what I was able to do. All shots were done hand-held with manual flash.

Comments appreciated.

Thanks!
