Yeah, his upper breast is blown out. That's a difficulty photographing these guys especially with the sun where it is in this photo. If I get feather detail on the white breast the rest of him is too dark.
I guess I could have pulled way back on the exposure and then worked it in photoshop but (a) it's too late because I only got a two shots (six total since I bracketed) then he flew off, and (b) I missed the focus a bit anyway so really there's not much use putting too much work into it. It's not a keeper and is really only of interest to me because so far it's the only juvenile tree swallow I've got to date.
