I couldn't wait for the octagonal umbrella softbox I ordered through
eBay as I was suddenly confronted with two impending shoots, so I
zoomed over to my local AV pusher and bought their floor model
Westcott on sale, drastically reduced, with stand and umbrella mount.
When the Chinese knock-off arrives I'll now be able to compare build
quality against the Real Thing. My new Westcott Apollo is the
traditional square shape, while the soon to arrive one is a clone of
the Westcott "Orb", an octagonal shaped softbox. I actually prefer the
rounder octa for its natural looking catchlights.
