The adult is pretty ordinary looking. And judging by how much of this leaf he's eaten I guess they would properly be considered pests.
I see thorns in the background so maybe it's rose leaves he's munching on in the photo. Still think he's pretty, though. ;-) Thanks for the ID. And thanks to all who looked and commented.
