The special design balloons generally feature an icon of children's literature, like Horton from Dr Seuss, Humpty-Dumpty and Puff the Magic Dragon, or something related to a public concern, like the Fireman representing the first responders who served at the World Trade Center on and after 9/11 and this lighthouse, which honors the organizations raising money to Restore The Shore, in order to rebuild the bridges, roads, boardwalks, homes, stores, restaurants and amusements destroyed or damaged by Sandy.
