I finally got one.

According to the receipt I bought the kit for this trailer July 25,
2005. That was just before I went off to photography school the first
time. I found it in the basement last year when I was doing my plumbing
repairs.

I started putting it together last winter just before I went off on my
January road trip out west to Bosque del Apache (and other places). I've
been trying to finish installing the deck for a month or more. Every
time I'd go out to work on it I'd get about an hour of work & a
thunderstorm would blow up & pour down rain. That's what happened on
Saturday & it was when I came in from that I found the hot water heater
had become kaput.

I didn't want to just put a piece of plywood on it. That's 5/8 x 6
treated deck boards. It's bolted together & bolted to the frame. All of
the bolt heads are recessed so I've got a smooth surface to slide things
along it if I need to.

I worked on it all day Sunday & finally got the deck finished around
5:00pm. Hallelujah, it didn't rain! Put it to use immediately.

It's going to get a bunch more use in the coming weeks. First of all, I
got to haul the old water heater to the recycling facility. Then, I've
got a Troy-bilt Super Tomahawk chipper-shredder that's got to be taken
to the repair center so I can finally start to make a dent in my backlog
limbs & brush & shrubbery that's going to go into the compost bin.

And I've finally got a way to bring in materials & haul away debris so I
can finally get back on my roof & get it finished (IF the rain ever
holds off long enough I feel like it's safe to remove the tarp.
