Just out taking pictures of fiberglass kows with one of these this
morning.. a wonderful lens.
To get to 1:1, you'll need to make up the rest of the extension. It will
do 50mm of extension all by itself (100mm * 0.5x = 50mm). I use the
complete set of extension tubes with mine, total of 67mm extension. It
allows me to go slightly past 1:1, or I can not use the lens at its full
extension (lets see.. that would be 100 - 67 = 33mm, and 100mm/33mm = 0.3x,
so dial to 3 on the barrel, right?) and get exactly 1:1. I find that in
practice, I don't much care exactly what the magnification is as long as I
get the composition I wanted.
