it's like the old joke: "i started my jaguar this morning." :-)
but, yes, this buy had nothing to do with practicality or sanity for that matter. i'm just one of those weirdos who loves to restore old things and this car was ripe for it. i could've spent another $1500+ for a runner, but where's the fun in that? also, i really wanted to rebuild the engine myself as there are few things more satisfying to my way of thinking. in the end, i may never get my money back out of it and that doesn't bother me in the least. i've already learned so much that it's its own reward. my whole life i've wanted to restore a car. granted, i thought it would be 67 Camaro with a Turbo Jet 396, but hey, you gotta start somewhere! what i'll end up with is a cool little car that gets 35 mpg and is so easy to work on that i'll never have to bring it to a mechanic or get it smogged.
