I like it. He looks gentle. Don't need context or environment to feel that. 

But on that issue, he sure looks like a farmer. I guess it's because I've seen 
a few agricultural fairs, but I might have guessed where he was even without 
your description. He's just got "that look" about him.

Context is good but sometimes isolation works, too. I think it's a wonderful 
photo.
