We had a pretty big wind storm blow through last night. No damage here except one large pot plant fell over, and the nest that a blackbird has been building in our lemon tree has fallen apart. In more remote areas there was a bit of carnage.
I went outside during it and while it didn't feel too bad. It was strong gusts doing the damage; the sustained wind was fairly light. But the noise out there was incredible. I had visions of being decapitated by loose roofing iron so I went back inside pretty quickly. This morning dawned clear and still but we had a small thunderstorm blow through mid-morning. When the sun came out I noticed it was still raining so I looked south and saw this... http://gallery.multi.net.nz/photo/650/#peso I've cloned out some wires which ended up looking jagged no matter how I did the resampling.
