Thank you Charles! I grew up in Chicago, and my mother worked at Field's when I was a teen. I loved it and special things about it in addition to getting great discounts on clothes as a clothes happy teen and much later going back to Chicago to visit and eating in the Walnut Room.

I visited Field's in Minneapolis a couple of times when staying with friends or my cousin.... was happy to discover they had Frango's there. yum! and the ambiance was similar to the Field's in the Loop in Chicago (which was the first store.) I hated it when Macy's bought it and did away with the name, there was a big protest about it.

And in these days of diminished memory, I was glad you confirmed that
I recognized the building.  Last time I was there was um 2005...

Was originally "Dayton's" for decades here in Minneapolis.  THEN Marshall 
Field's, finally Macy's.
