That's pretty much why I'm doing it.
Just as small aside, I hadn't cleared the card yet so it was no special
trick to get another copy to try to convert. It was exactly the same
with the new copy. I tried firing up Pentax Camera Utility 4 and
attempted to convert it to a 16bit tiff as well as to DNG just in case
it was only a problem with that particular file and ADC, both operations
gave a similar result. The embedded jpeg is extractable, but it's a low
resolution image, and really it wasn't a great photo anyway, but it's
still annoying, and I'm still a bit worried.

K20D's don't compress their DNG's, so setting it to save PEF and then
converting to (compressed) DNG on import is the preferred route,
assuming you want to maximize card space.

I hope it's neither the card nor the camera, and just a one time glitch,
but if you want DNG, why not set the the K20D to shoot DNG?

So I just transferred a card's worth of photos from this afternoon's
shooting, and converted the K20D pefs to DNG format, (using Adobe Dng
Converter 4.1), as has been my wont of late. Well upon conversion one
and as yet only one of the files does not convert properly. It appears
to have not saved properly on the card. I hate the thought that the
card, a fairly new Class 10 8gb, may be defective, I hate even more that
the K20D may be defective.
