I gotta say "concealed" bothers me because it looks like the guy would
have to have been doubled jointed for that to be his arm - unless you
are being tricky and it really is someone else's arm holding the hat.
So as beautifully rendered as it is, this one is not for me.
THe stright shot of your friend is nice.

Super shot Godfrey. I like the texture in the hand and hat. Film or digital?

This is film. The camera is Canon Rebel Xs with EF 35-80/4-5.6 kit lens that
was given to me by a friend a couple of weeks ago. He found it sitting in the
trash bin, just thrown out, when he was going to the car to drive over to the
cafe and meet me for coffee, so he picked it up and brought it along. I wiped
it down with one of those pre-wetted bathroom sanitizing towels as it was
filthy, put in a fresh battery, and fitted a roll of ancient Kodak Royal Gold
200 II that had been sitting in a drawer since 2000. The original intent was to
see if the camera's film transport worked, but it seemed to be working so well
I just carried it to a party and shot off the whole roll of film. I set the ASA
to 100. What I got back from processing was 24 amazingly good negatives ...
color shifted all over the place, a little grainy, but otherwise just fine.
Here's another one:
