I have calibrated my monitor, but admittedly not recently. This image was taken with my K-01, rather than my DSLR, so it was recorded in jpeg rather than in raw format. I may have dialed up the contrast a bit, but not a lot. To my eye, the blues seem close to what I saw at the airport, but if my monitor is off, that is not inconsistent with your criticism.
