Um, interesting. Not really my thing as they look too -- infantile? -- but I was curious to understand what my biggest objection to the renderings is: the light is _completely_ flat. F'rinstance, compare Christine Keeler to the original shot. The original is low key and high contrast; there's mystery and subtlety. In the play-doh ... nuthin'. Without "brand recognition" you'd have kindergarten class level stuff. The joke barely withstands one rendition.
Oh well, overthinking this I guess, as usual. :-) On Tue, Sep 24, 2013 at 3:55 AM, David Mann <[email protected]> wrote: > Saw this in my BBC News feed... > > http://photographsrenderedinplaydoh.tumblr.com/ > > Cheers, > Dave > > > -- > PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List > [email protected] > http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net > to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow > the directions. -- -bmw -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
