Thought this was interesting. Benjamin Kanarek is a big time fashion photographer who, up until recently, shot with Pentax K-5. He switched to the Nikon D800 for his still shooting, which I don't find terribly surprising.
What I *did* find surprising is that he kept the K-01 for its VIDEO capabilities. He uses it with a loop monitor and a Pentax 18-250mm lens. I would never personally buy that lens for still work, but it does make a heck of a range for video (effective 27mm-375mm). I see that Pentax has replaced it with a 18-270mm lens which puts you over 400mm effective FOV. http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/professional-photography-publications/236393-pentax-k-01-used-acclaimed-elle-video.html#post2502277 I'm not a big video shooter, but I should compare the wife's K-01 with my K-5II as a video machine. The K-01's focus peaking can be used in video mode, yes? -- Nothing is sure but death and Pentaxes. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
