Years ago I was lucky enough to meet James Hunt - I was a film editor about to work on a doc of the attempt to bring city-centre racing to Birmingham (England). James was managing one of the drivers in the race (formula F3000 - q.v.) and I went to the shoot to watch and hang out. It pissed with rain and I ended up being Hunt's brolly-dolly as he patrolled the starting grid! Can't remember much about it except he was charming and 'a bit of a lad' ;-)
The race was a disaster and ended in a wet shunt.
