I'm on the cometobs mailing list where this guy posted his
(sensational) subject line this morning and it has been addressed by a
number of other experienced comet experts.
I'll just be kind and tell you not to believe everything you read.
This guy is comparing apples and oranges in his data and coming up
with a hypothesis.
It is too early to say for certain whether or not ISON will
disintegrate when it comes in close contact with the sun (even if it
disintegrates at that point, it could still be spectacular). But this
guy is suggesting that it is disintegrating right now, when it is
still several AU from the sun.
The public should not be told sensational things about comets on
either end of the spectrum ("It is going to be the Greatest Thing
EVAR" or "It is Going to Disintegrate!") What it does depends on it's
size and it's chemical composition and we can't be too certain of
either at this point. But we do know its orbital path and speed.
