It has been a roller coaster year but, on balance, the M's and W's

Yesterday was the worst fire day in New South Wales for several
decades. So far only one death but probably well over 100 homes lost,
some just a few kilometres west of us.

So far, so good but for the first time in the 30+ years we've lived at
Castlereagh we decided to evacuate. Packed the cat and my photos backup
and left. That was a couple of hours ago and we're now having a bite to
eat in Penrith.
Castlereagh Road is closed so we can't go back yet. I'm not expecting a
disaster (fingers crossed) but better safe than sorry.
