No Eric, it can't be done in a  minute. I'm intimately familiar with the Epson 
site. Been using it for at least 20 years. When you follow the link that 
Godders provided and specify the V500 scanner, Epson says you have to go 
through Apple to get the driver. It's not simple, because Apple doesn't have 
the driver yet.  Here's the copy straight from the Epson site:

The latest ICA Scanner Driver for this product is available only via Apple's 
Software Update. Here's how to get it:

        • Connect your scanner to your Mac via USB or Ethernet* and make sure 
it is turned on.
* Not all products have an Ethernet port.
        • Select the apple menu on your Mac, then select Software Update.
        • Follow the on-screen instructions to install the available updates.
Note: Software Updates may find multiple updates for your system. You may 
choose to install all or some of the updates by clicking Show Details.

Epson has been relying on Apple for drivers for a number of its products for 
quite some time now.
