I can second that.

I have a similar device, the Tascam MP-GT1 "MP3 guitar trainer',
think it was well over a 100 dollars, but that was a few years ago.

It allows you to play MP3 stuff as-is, as well as slower or faster, keeping the 
pitch correct!

It also supports looping small fragments of an MP3, to train certain guitar 
licks.

Mine has built-in storage only, no SD card.

And of course you can connect your (electric) guitar to it as well, to play 
along ...
