I think it's a really bad idea to have "all your eggs in one basket".

I shoot RAW files with a K-5, and get ~250 shots on an 8GB card.  That's more 
than enough for an average day's shooting.  At the end of the day, I download 
the card to an electronic device (my laptop or an old Epson "image 
tank"/viewer), save the card outside my camera bag, and load the camera with a 
new card.

I firmly believe in backups and redundancy.
