Try new batteries, I have noticed that with the Achiever flash set to manual it slowed down my MZ-M. I do not know why but it does seem that the camera knows there is a flash there once a connection is made on the hot shoe and it tries to communicate, using a bit of power doing so. I have not had that problem with the battery pack fg.
