Godfrey inspired me to dig out my old SX-70's I only have about 200 and
most of them are not of much artistic interest , mainly I used them to
help me get ID's on plants out west from locals SO i could submit slides
with proper captions for stock back in the late 80's and early 90's.
So I took a few and put them on ebay... three different batches sold
immediately! Now I'm working on listing more...
Now here is the thing - I think the aroma of them is from fixer -
certainly stored on the box I had them in I get a strong aroma when
opening it but the odor fades as I air them out individually. IS
it basically the same chemical as fix used in darkroom? that is what
it smells like to me.
Also - there are fingerprints on some of them.. I don't remember, if I
ever knew, what is best to use to remove them.. I did wipe them with a
soft cloth but nothing else - sometimes what worked, other times not so
much.
first thing that sold was a set of 4 that came out of a broken camera..
after one came out I rather liked the look and shot out a few more ..

And the crappy desert bloom photos went shortly after

In truth, I'd say 90% of the Polaroids on ebay that are sold are um well
"risque" - but if I can sell my boring flora shots for a few bucks I'm
happy to get the dough.
