There's not enough in these pictures to draw any conclusions. The 1600 shot looks pretty good. The jpeg engine is smearing a bit though, but tons of detail is being retained. The chroma noise in the shadows looks troubling, but that's nothing that can't be fixed in post. I wouldn't pass any judgement until some people start posting better pictures processed from raw. I did a k-3 and a k-5 picture side by side of the same exact subject and they looked pretty much identical when reduced to k-5 resolution. I looked very long and hard and the only difference I could tell in between the two was the greenish cast WB the K-5 is notorious for. The color rendition looked identical, but again that could be because they were processed as raw and both used adobe standard vs embedded.
