They are amazing. And when they are feeding during their migration they will let one get quite close. I guess they are so intent on refueling they need to eat at all costs.
In my three and a half years here in New Toronto I've only experienced the full migration once; I've missed it other years. They don't move at the same time every year. Depends on the weather during the summer or something. Anyway, three years ago was an awe-inspiring experience. Thanks for the kind words and thanks to all who looked and commented.
