I took delivery of the ME, tripod and Honeywell Flash from the local Pawn
Broker. It cost me $100 and the camera worked fine after I swapped the
batteries. I had the disgusting job of cleaning off several years worth of
cigarette tar (yuck) of the camera and the Sigma 80-200mm/f3.5-22: f4-27
zoom.

The Sigma lens does not appear to be as damaged as I had thought, as the
scratches I had noted were on a layer of tar. After cleaning the front
element, the lens looks as sharp as a button. The lens still needs another
going over, as the rubber focussing grip is still grotty. Apart from the
cosmetics, the lens seems to function well, although the zoom action is a
tad jerky, but further cleaning may fix this. In all I'm pleased.
