I have a few third party batteries. One that I had didn't last as long
as the pentax battery and would die in live view with the battery less
than half full. I'm pretty sure they used a lesser battery and over
reported the capacity. I can't remember what brand it was since I
washed it in my pants and it was completely unchargeable after that. I
also have a few Synergy branded batteries and they work just about as
well as the pentax batteries. Here's a tip: keep your batteries
charged. I have a bad habit of leaving batteries drained for long
periods of time and it definitely reduces their life. My old K-7
battery probably has less capacity than my newer K5 battery due to
this.
