I've watched several of their reviews having seen the links here. Well,
if you take them just as an opinion of few persons (assuming, they do
have a team of reviewers, not just two guys) who have brief experience
with great many various cameras, and more extensive experience with
rather few of them - I think everything falls into place.
I for one, quite liked watching the reviews simply because they are far
more alive than most of what is written on the net, especially by sites
such as DXO or DPR.
And I totally don't care who comes on top when they compare stuff.

The K-5 IIs vs D7100 review was great and sad. Especially the part
where Lok pleads with Ricoh for more advertising. They really do have
a love for pentax. The K-5 IIs stomped the D7100 in low light too. It
didn't even need the focus assist light. Kai really does know a good
bit. The strobist wrote on his blog about his visit there and claimed
that Alamby was the real comedic genius that most of what Kai says is
scripted by her. It does make for good comedy though. Its true that he
constantly bashes sony and this is the first review that he was really
positive about them. He makes no bones about his hatrhat ed of sony.
That show has had some great moments too like having his friend step
through a shoot with a hasselblad that he had been using for 20-30
years. The best comment: "the pentax 67 has sharper lenses." Some
times the show is awful too. You should go back and watch what it was
like 2+ years ago. Wooden and pretty boring with rarely a joke to be
heard.

IMO, all internet reviews should be seen purely for the entertainment value. On
that score, Kai does well. But there are times when he's either playing too
dumb or his opinions are so far off base (relative to my own, of course… :-))
that I drop a viewing as a waste of time.
That said, Digital Rev TV is certainly an advertising effort, and it does well.

Having watched way too many of his reviews (often just for the
entertainment, not because I cared about the camera or lens), I've
come to believe he does know his s*!t but will play dumb for the sake
of comedy. Plus, I'm 95% certain DigitalRev sees these videos as
advertising, not really as technical reviews :-)
In any case, when he doesn't like something, he's clear about it and
doesn't mince words, and I don't think I've ever seen him praise a
Sony product like he did the A7(r).

He's entertaining. Often times it's hard to tell whether he is just having fun
or simply doesn't understand what he's looking at. But at least he makes no
bones about being right or wrong …

I imagine some of you hate Kai's style of reviewing, but I thoroughly
enjoy his irreverence. Anyway, he actually...well...I'll let you watch
the review to find out what he thinks of these FF Sonys (or is it
"Sonies"?):

If only their lenses weren't so humongous, they could be contenders
for Miserere's stable of street cameras, especially at $1,700 for the
A7.
