Jostein, I imagine you're somewhere near Heceta Lighthouse. It's north of 
Florence, OR, very near the Seal Caves. Heceta is the best positioned 
lighthouse I happen to have ever seen. Last year at about this same Dec date, I 
made the trip up there, from the Sacramento, CA area, to attempt a sunset 
shoot. Weather was grey and misty. After a couple days, we (wife and I) gave it 
up. Wish I had the gumption to head up there again today.
I would guess, you can position yourself so that the sun sets just to the left 
of the light as you view it from a pull-off viewing area immediately south of 
small bay.
