Kenichi and Sho were at a huge disadvantage for last weekend's Shop
'til You Drop bike messenger race. Only here for a few months from
Tokyo, they didn't know what many of the articles were that needed
to be bought for the scavenger portion of the race.
What's with Tokyo bikers going to Canada? For racing?
For instance they'd never heard of evaporated milk let alone know
to look for Carnation brand in a red and white can.
You made me look that up. It's called dehydrated milk around here,
and it has an awfully long shelf life (read: very few people ever buy
it).
Generally when I think of dehydrated milk I think of the powdered
product. It has the most gawdawful flavor when reconstituted. I have
never been able to find a way to mask or remove that powdered milk taste
to where I can drink it without gagging.
Evaporated milk is still a liquid.
But, I didn't realize that condensed milk & evaporated milk are not
quite the same thing.
So they finished tied for last, but they completed their food list
and were smiling at the end.
I rather like this shot of Ken:

A good portrait, pleasant smile. Would prefer the eyes to be a
little wee bit sharper.
