Sounds like a self inflicted virtual September. > new participants to enjoy the group's benefits? > A community must, it seems grow or die. Stagnation is no real option. I have spent a fair amount of time on various photographic fora over the past few years and this one is the only one that I've found to be worth the time to follow it. Most of them are dominated by people who have recently learned that they can control depth of field by opening up the aperture of their lens who consider themselves the experts who are teaching the people who have just gotten their first camera that allows relatively convenient manual exposure. As such, I don't think that promiscuous recruitment would serve the PDML well. I do think that targeted recruitment, on the other hand, would serve our community well. I'm not suggesting that we only recruit people who consider the K-mount a recent invention of dubious value, a person's attitude is far more important than their experience. I think that what would work the best is that when you do meet someone, either virtually or in person, who uses Pentax gear, and who seems like they would be a beneficial addition to the group, personally invite them to join. > > I am hoping Ricoh does some *innovative* things with Pentax.
