Had some excitement in the garden this evening. Our Lab was barking madly at something in the undergrowth. There was a rattling sound (much like the rattlers I have seen on TV) - it turned out he had cornered a porcupine. They are not actually aggressive but present their rear end of sharp quills to any foe. Even Lions & Leopards avoid them for fear of facial injuries. Having removed the Lab to safety, I grabbed my camera & carefully took a few shots. Hopefully the porcupine will move on during the night.
