Some of the failures on Af lenses are related to poor build quality
overall, unrelated
to the AF system in particular.

My interpretation of that is that "gee, folks, if you stayed away from AF lenses you
wouldn't have these problems".
Which, while it might have "meaning", isn't "useful".
