Thanks, Dan, and thanks to all who commented. It's hard not to be moved when 
witnessing these. IIRC this officer left behind a wife and two young children. 
A tragedy on all levels.

What amazed me (other than those spectacular long-coats that drape over the 
horse - obviously only useful for one, sad occasion) is those horses marching 
slowly down University Ave. in near perfect unison. I don't know how they could 
possibly train them to do that.
