Yep -- along with National Guard troops and every jackleg roofer and
tree service in the country.
We were racing an ice storm on the way back from New Orleans early this
month and passed several caravans of utility trucks along the way.
Thankfully, we ended up getting just about ½ inch with maybe 6 inches of
snow this time (with no power outages that I know of) -- and we got in a
few hours ahead of the storm.

That's when all the electric power trucks from remote companies and

doing in Suburban Chicago?'

Watched the Weather Channel Saturday
as my brother's kids were flying or driving in.
They had rules for ice storms like
1/8 inch, so pretty
1/4 inch, slippery and trouble driving
1/2 inch, downed tree limbs & elec lines out and you're f---ed.
Now, consider the fact that in 2009, my area got 2½ inches of ice followed
by 13 inches of snow.
It was a little unpleasant around here for a while.
