Ann's Venus photo is very clever in rather the same way as Manet's Dejeuner sur 
l'herbe. 

In the painting the nude's pose is based, like the statue, on the classical 
image of Venus / Aphrodite surprised while bathing, and modestly hiding her 
nakedness. Part of the shock value of Manet's painting was that she is 
deliberately looking the viewer (normally male) in the eye, confronting him and 
in part appropriating his gaze, which represents power.

Ann's Venus is even naughtier in apparently looking at something that 'nice 
girls' are not supposed to look at...
