But that was well before the Internet and fanboyism. There weren't legions of brainwashed folks trying to convince each other that their 35mm SLRs were inadequate for anything but quick snaps and they couldn't possibly consider tripping the shutter on anything less than a medium format. It's just gotten to be like the -- now almost forgotten -- SUV craze where you couldn't be seen driving to work in anything smaller than a Hummer.
