Larry, it looks like you had an adventurous trip with many excellent shots
to prove it. The Astrotracer obviously works well. I see you did manage a
fine shot of the Andromeda galaxy. In the desert, with no extraneous light,
it should be an easy naked eye object. To me, deserts are scary places yet
some people actually manage to make a living there. The western part of SA
is semi-desert (Karoo & Namaqualand) but nothing like as bleak &
inhospitable as the Nevada.
