I honestly get that, Ken. I'm afraid I tend over react to a hint of highlight 
clipping. 
Your chosen exposure is a completely reasonable compromise.

Thanks for commenting Jack.

As I recall I had +1.7 compensation dialed in to satisfy the histogram. The 
snow was mostly featureless in the foreground.
