For me the redux is more an image about a farm scene than of a barn.

I prefer the first version. I liked the stark lines and rendition, with the foreground rails a nice contrast. (Background silhouettes vs. foreground detail.) This one including the tree seems cluttered to me - the tree fights with the barn for attention and masks the barn from view. The tiny bits of color that this one adds do not IMHO add enough to offset what you have lost in the composition.
