The neoprene makes a big difference, especially when you're moving and generating some body heat. I was swimming in the lake every day leading up to the race, mostly without the wetsuit at 15-16C water temperature. I was only staying in for about 15 minutes and was feeling slightly hypothermic afterwards. I don't have a lot of padding so tend to lose heat rather quickly :) > Several years ago I saw police rescue divers lowering themselves into the > lake. They were wearing dry suits. Those guys have a hard job, often they're looking for stuff in water with zero visibility.
